Geocaching - Clean and Simple at Cracker Barrel

I'm telling you, CatsEye55 and Starcatcher55 (Jim and I) returned to Cracker Barrel at least five times to search for this cache called, "Mondo's Off His Rocker". (Cracker Barrel's have all those rocking chairs out front.)  The clue was "Clean and Simple" so when I saw that old ringer washing machine (like we used to wash clothes in when we lived in Missouri as children), I just knew that was the spot.  But, we just couldn't find anything unusual on this washing machine no matter how many times we looked over, under, around and under it again!

Finally today, CatsEye55 reached a little higher under the washer to find this elusive cache.  Whew!

(You can click on the photo for a closer view.)

Never underestimate the power of a good washing machine.
By the way, I caught my hand in between the two wringers on the old washer in Missouri. I can still hear myself screaming to this day!

Geocaching - No Need To Climb The Tree

What an extra-ordinary Geo-find we enjoyed today!  Actually, CatsEye55 (hubby Jim) found it or I might still be climbing the tree or swimming in the canal!

He touched the (dead) limb, and it moved a little.
Lift it up and waa-laa! A Geocache!
The sign-in log was in a tiny little container that was in a hole drilled into the limb!
This is what it looked like when we put it back.
(Tell me this doesn't look like a grasshopper's head!!)
A close-up of the little container that held the sign-in log.

The tree I didn't climb, and the canal I didn't have to swim.  :))

Geocaching - The Meter Is Running

We found this one from the road.  (The little geocache, silly) Can you see it?  It's an Altoids tin painted the same color at the meter box. It had a little magnet in the lid holding it under the first switch box. This is the first time we had to wait for some 'muggles' to walk by.  (Muggles = non geocachers.) Click the photo to zoom in and possibly see the Altoids tin.

Victory Lane

THIS was "Victory Lane" or the location of the Geocache according to my GPS, but where in the world was that cache?
Not so hard! Just look behind the sign...
Unscrew the top to retrieve the mini log to sign.

Geocaching - With A Smile

A Geocacher can exchange a trinket like this one.

Always smiling when geocaching....
Unless you don't look where you're walking...

Geocaching in Denver

What's better than an afternoon walk in nature?  Geocaching in nature!
At geocaching.com you can learn more about it.
Is it a path in the park or Geocaching?

I believe it's GEOCACHING!!!

The geocache was called, "It's Not Your Pen".
We signed the log book and added our pen.
